PHONE UNLOCK PROCEDURE

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT ANY UNLOCK PROCESS

This procedure unlocks a device obtained from the Vodafone Hutchison/3 networks in  Australia.

Take note of the unlocking code shown above

·         Insert a SIM card issued by another network provider.

·         Ensure the device is charged then switch the device on

·         Establish a LAN connection to the device using a WIFI connection

·         Obtain a WEB User Interface connection by entering the URL address http://192.168.1.1 or http://pocket.wifi using Internet Explorer (Windows OS) or Safari (Mac OS)

Optional Step: If the device displays a message Enter PIN, enter your SIM PIN (See FAQ below)

·         A new 'Unlock Device' page should now appear

·         Enter the unlock code provided above into the 'SIMLOCK Code' section and select 'Apply'

·         The device will then restart

 

Success is confirmed if able to connect the device using a WIFI connection and you can access the internet using the Non-Vodafone/3 SIM card (You will need registration, reception and credit (if prepaid) with the relevant network provider).

 

Please Note:

If the incorrect unlocking code is entered, the Web page will display "Failed to unlock the SIMLOCK". Select continue to return to the Unlock Device screen

The device will then show how many attempts are left starting from 3 attempts.

If an incorrect unlocking code is entered 3 times the device will reset the attempts counter to 3 to allow for further entries.

 

 

Experiencing Difficulties Unlocking Your Handset?

When raising a difficulty on the Vodafone Australia unlocking website - www.vodafone.com.au/unlock or the Three Australia unlocking website – www.three.com.au/unlocking we require the following information to speed the resolution of any issue that you may be experiencing:

·         Exact wording from the handset of the error experienced when the unlocking code is entered

·         Was the device purchased from Vodafone Australia or Three Australia

·         IMEI confirmed by entering *#06# into the device to confirm – This will bring the IMEI up on the screen of the device

·         Is the SIM card used to unlock the handset Active – i.e. able to be used in another handset to make a successful call at the same location

 

 

FAQ:

Question: My device asks to enter a PIN number

Answer: For SIM cards with PIN ENABLED you will be required to enter a PIN Number. By entering the URL address http://192.168.1.1 or http://pocket.wifi using Internet Explorer (Windows OS) or Safari (Mac OS) you will be redirected to http://192.168.1.1/pinboot.asp page with a heading "SIM Card Status". Enter the SIM PIN into the section "Please validate PIN code" and then select 'Apply'.

The device will present another Web page showing 'Applying' and Verifying the PIN Code successful. The device will start searching for the mobile network and register correctly. Click 'Continue' after 3 seconds and the page will refresh to the pockwifi dashboard web page. Once the SIM PIN has been verified, continue with the unlocking steps as shown above.

For information concerning the PIN, PIN2, PUK and PUK2 codes for a SIM card please contact the service provider who issued the SIM card,
