This procedure unlocks the handset from being network restricted to SIM cards from either Vodafone Australia or Three Australia. In case of difficulties, please refer to the FAQ's listed below.
Take note of the unlocking code shown above
· Insert an active Non-Vodafone Australia or Non-Three Australia SIM card
· Ensure the phone is charged and then switch the phone on Optional Step: If the SIM card has a PIN, enter your PIN number (See FAQ below)
· Once the device started, the phone will then display a message. Most common is 'Network lock'
· Enter unlocking code above, then select 'Confirm'
· The handset will be unlocked automatically
Unlocking is confirmed once able to make and receive calls with the Non-Vodafone Australia or Non-Three Australia SIM card. (You will need reception and phone credit with the different network provider)
If a wrong unlocking code is entered, it will display 'Incorrect SIM Password' and will take you back to the normal SIM Lock screen
Please Note:
If the unlocking code is entered incorrectly 3 times, the device will be blocked indefinitely.
The device will display 'Phone Freeze SIM unavailable. Contact your service provider'
To unblock your handset please contact Samsung Customer Support on 1300 362 603 for the nearest service centre. Vodafone or Three cannot unblock your handset.
During this time your handset will continue to work with a Vodafone or Three SIM card only.
FAQ:
Question: My phone asks me to enter a PIN number
Answer: For SIM cards with a PIN ENABLED you will be required to enter a PIN. This is not the unlocking code that has just been provided. For information concerning the PIN, PIN2, PUK and PUK2 codes for a SIM card please read the manual that came with your phone.
Note: Faulty SIM Cards - The handset may also display messages indicating the SIM you are using to unlock the handset is faulty, it could display "Insert SIM" "Bad Card", "Card Error" or "Card Rejected", confirm the SIM card is inserted correctly – Gold area downwards and the cut of the corner matches correctly. You will need a working Non-Vodafone SIM card to unlock the handset; Vodafone cannot assist with other network's faulty SIMs.
Question: I am not currently in Australia and I can't unlock the phone that I purchased from a Vodafone Australia and Three Australia outlet
Answer: For help and assistance with this please call us on Vodafone Customer Support on +614 1414 1414 or contact HandsetUnlocking.Difficulties@vodafone.com.au with your name, handset make and model, IMEI, and description of issue
